WELCOME TO KIA KAHA

Adventures of a stomachless Lauren

Kia Kaha is a phrase used by the people of New Zealand as an affirmation, meaning stay strong. When I was 20 I found out that I had a genetic mutation called CDH1, my stomach will be removed on June 12, 2019 to prevent me from getting stomach cancer. I love to travel, explore, live, and laugh. I want to share my story, the before and after, the good and the bad of a total stomach removal at the age of 25. I never saw myself writing a blog, but when life becomes too hard to talk about it seems easier to write. This is my story.
